China News Service, Beijing, August 11 (Liu Huan) Recently, many users claimed to have encountered the "killing pig" scam on platforms such as community e-commerce.

After criminals steal other people's information, they create fake people on the platform to deceive.

How did the Internet platform become a hotbed of "killing pigs"?

Using fake user information on the Internet to defraud is hard to prevent, how to prevent it?

First "raise" and then "kill", how real or fake is user information?

On July 27, Hao Yun, who came out of the Dujiangyan Public Security Bureau, was in a trance and still couldn't believe the fact that she was defrauded of 700,000 yuan by the "killing pig" scam. She told Chinanews.com, "I really hope that. It's a novel, and when you wake up, nothing happens."

"Slaughtering pigs" refers to telecommunications frauds in which criminals (also known as "butchers") lure victims into investing, gambling, and online lending through online dating and other methods.

They often deceive victims into investing a lot of money and then cancel the information immediately by creating characters or falsely claiming to be an authority, that is, "killing pigs."

Back in October 2021, 27-year-old Hao Yun submitted her resume on the 58.com website. A personnel named "Shenzhen Zhongke Green Construction Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd." contacted her and asked for an online interview on the grounds of an online interview. Hao Yunjia is the QQ number of the "boss" who is in charge of personnel.

After a simple online communication, the "boss" said that Hao Yun could directly join the job next month.

After that, he frequently chatted with Hao Yun on the Internet, claiming to be a graduate of a certain coastal 985 University, his parents divorced since he was a child, and his grandmother was pulling him to grow up.

"His speech seems very organized, with a wide range of knowledge and a good level of knowledge," Hao Yun said frankly at the beginning, he had a good impression of the "boss", "He didn't feel like that kind of liar at the time. Kind of, and what really made me relieved was that he gave me all the ID cards." The two gradually developed into a romantic relationship.

Then, the "boss" lured Hao Yun to download apps such as Boyu Huanhai and Ruliu on the grounds of speculating in stocks.

Hao Yun didn't believe this at first, and couldn't help persuading him to invest tens of thousands of yuan. After withdrawing part of the money, Hao Yun found that the APP couldn't withdraw cash. At this time, the "boss" had lost contact.

She found the personnel that she had contacted when she was recruiting, and the new "lawyer" said that the "boss" was detained for embezzling public funds and needed Hao Yun's loan to "guarantee" him.

The "boss" also kept calling from the "detention center", claiming that he had been beaten many times and begging her to rescue him.

Before and after, the anxious Hao Yun invested 700,000 yuan in this way.

It wasn't until she became suspicious that she specifically checked the address claimed by the company and found that there was no such place.

Who are the "butchers" targeting?

After Hao Yun posted his experience on Xiaohongshu, many people left a message saying that he had also been found by this "boss" on various social platforms, and had previously used several pseudonyms such as Li Longjun and Fang Zhiyuan.

A search on Chinanews.com found that Shenzhen Zhongke Green Construction Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd., which had recruited Hao Yun, showed its existing status on Qichacha, but 58.com could not search for relevant recruitment information.

In addition, the photo of "Boss" came from a user whose ID is "Weiji" on the short video platform.

Netizens left a message saying that criminals posted their photos on various social platforms through video screenshots, and fabricated multiple people such as divorce and financial elites to defraud.

At present, many platform users have reported encountering such scams.

Xie Yao, the answerer of Zhihu’s network security topic, said in his answer: The feature of “killing pigs” different from other scams is “raising pigs”.

He wrote: This kind of scam has a clear division of labor. There are feeding groups, language groups, technical groups, and money laundering groups. After finding targets on the Internet platform, they use text, pictures, short videos, etc. to create all kinds of lovable people. "Circle of Friends There are always updates, shopping malls, homes, pets... The other party is even more like a real person than himself. But the victims don't know, all this is prepared material."

After gaining the victim's trust, the "butcher" lured him into false investment and financial management, persuading him to put in a lot of deposits and even loans.

CCTV News previously reported that among the five types of high-incidence telecommunications network fraud cases announced by the Ministry of Public Security, the fraudulent investment fraud involved the largest amount, accounting for about one-third of all the funds involved.

He Liren, an expert in the field of Internet information, told Chinanews.com that the fraud gang will even ask some people with a background in psychology to help research and write a script, and create a personality that suits the psychological needs of the victim according to the characteristics of the victim's age, gender, occupation, etc. "Some even have the victim's private information, such as express delivery, education, medical treatment, etc., to increase the credibility of their words."

Relevant data shows that from 2021 to the present, there are 52,876 suspected high-risk data in the total number of "killing pigs" fraud warning data, 39,727 warning data for women over 18 years old, and 13,117 for men.

He Liren said that this is because women are more emotional and more likely to have emotional resonance.

"And the 'killing pig' is based on social interaction. With the change of time, the evolution speed is very fast, and the words and deceptions will be constantly updated, making it hard to prevent." He Liren added.

New regulations require information authentication, lawyers remind multi-channel subject review

Chinanews.com found that the "Butcher" uses the Internet platform to socialize, and the platform will take corresponding measures to remind users that there is a risk in communicating or trading off the platform, so the "Butcher" will ask the victim to download other social software and delete past records.

In this regard, Guan Zhiqiang, a lawyer from Beijing Hengdu Law Firm, said that social platforms are generally not responsible, but victims can collect and save evidence of infringement, and require the platform to take necessary measures such as deletion, blocking, and disconnection. After the victim's notification, it should be dealt with immediately, otherwise the victim can file a civil lawsuit and require the platform to bear joint and several liability."

From August 1, 2022, the "Regulations on the Management of Internet User Account Information" will come into effect, which requires that individual Internet users register and use account information that contains occupational information, which should be consistent with the personal real occupational information; Internet information service providers are: Internet users who provide information publishing, instant messaging, and other services shall conduct authentic identity information authentication.

In addition, the "Regulations" strengthen the regulatory measures, stipulating that the Internet information departments at or above the provincial level find that Internet information service providers have relatively large network information security risks, and may require them to take measures such as suspending information updates, user account registration, or other related services.

Guan Zhiqiang reminded that in addition to the "Regulations" requiring platforms, etc. to carry out information authentication, Internet users must conduct an examination of the authenticity of the subject and subject qualification when it involves transaction of amounts on the online platform.
