During the summer, DN published several investigative articles showing how non-safety-tested personnel worked inside Sweden's Radio's shell protection and how external consultants built the digital system for Sweden's national warning alert, Important message to the public, VMA.

The progress of the work and a "blueprint" for how the system works must also have been uploaded to a foreign cloud service.

As a result of the review, the authority for social protection and preparedness, MSB, which is responsible for the VMA system, has concluded that it takes the information that came to light in the review seriously.

Was called to the defense committee

On July 20, both MSB and SR were called to the defense committee to report how this is being remedied and to answer questions about the information that came to light.

In connection with the summons, the committee's chairman Pål Jonson (M) announced that the information that has come to light is very serious.

"Sveriges Radio therefore needs to review its security routines and report that no information sensitive to Sweden has fallen into the wrong hands", wrote Pål Jonson (M) in an SMS to Kulturnyheterna on July 20.

Between 11:00 and 11:45 today, MSB and SR will be heard by the Riksdag's defense committee.
