Hard summer for pollen allergies!

With hot weather, ragweed pollen grains disperse more easily in the air.

They "are more and more present and are already coming to greatly annoy allergy sufferers, a little ahead of last year", has just announced the National Aerobiological Monitoring Network on Twitter.

In France, between 1 and 3.5 million people are allergic to ragweed according to the National Agency for National Food Safety (Anses).

"The risk of allergy associated with ragweed pollen will be medium in heavily infested departments such as Rhône, Drôme, Ain, Isère, Ardèche, Nièvre, Allier", specifies the Monitoring network.

A very allergenic pollen

Sneezing, nasal obstruction, conjunctivitis, redness, swelling of the eyelids….

Symptoms of ragweed pollen allergy are similar to those caused by other pollens.

But they appear faster.

A few grains of this very allergenic pollen are enough to bother allergy sufferers.

To prevent its expansion, a platform for reporting plants before seed set has been put online.

Acting against the spread of ambrosia is a major public health issue that requires everyone's involvement!

It's still a good time to report ragweed before the seedling of the plant to limit its expansion: https://t.co/UcqwvhDRSU pic.twitter.com/RPEspYir35

“The pollen season is just starting and should continue until September” warns the National Aerobiological Monitoring Network.

“Also pay attention to the pollution peaks expected in the big cities,” he adds.

These also promote the spread of pollen.
