[Explanation] Recently, two tourists were swept into the sea by the waves while playing on the shore of a sea area in Qingdao City, Shandong Province.

A number of local departments launched search and rescue.

So far, the remains of the two tourists have been found by rescue teams.

After the incident, a cordon has been set up in the relevant areas of Macao Road, Shinan District, Qingdao, and staff are on duty to prohibit people from entering the dangerous area to play in the water.

[Explanation] In summer, more tourists go to the beach for summer vacations, but swimming at the beach is often accompanied by danger, and it is very easy to encounter rip currents called "invisible killers". It is understood that about 90% of beach drownings are because of rip currents.

So what is rip current?

[Explanation] The reporter came to the Shandong Provincial Natural Disaster Emergency Rescue Center with questions. Zhang Jialong, who has many years of experience in water rescue, told the reporter that the rip current, scientifically called "rip current", is a narrow beam-like stream on the coast. Strong currents, when strong winds blow to the coast, the sea water forms waves and accumulates on the coast, forming a force that rushes back to the sea.

The irregularities formed by the rip current will occur at any site and at any time.

After the rip current is formed, it will bring people back to the deep sea at an excessive speed. The fastest speed should be 3 meters per second. It is useless if you fight against this rip current. Yes, because you can't swim as fast as it can recycle seawater.

Basically, it is a relatively deadly "killer" in the whole country and the whole world.

[Commentary] Zhang Jialong said that, unlike many waves with loud noises, rip currents often don't attract people's attention, and they won't even notice until they sink deep into them.

If it is said that when you are unfortunate to play at the seaside, you are brought into the deep sea area by the rip current. At this time, don't panic. First, make sure that you can swim, and then make sure where the direction is, follow the current and maintain your physical strength. , then traverse this rip current laterally, and then come ashore.

When entering the water, you can do some protection in advance. For example, you can wear an anti-drowning bracelet on your hand. When you are in danger, you can pull it off to play a self-protection role. You can buy some life jackets and put them on for your children. Go to the beach to play.

[Explanation] Zhang Jialong said that when tourists play at the seaside, adults must always ensure that children do not leave their sights, they must play in designated sea areas and mature scenic spots, try to play in shallow sea areas, and do not climb over seawalls without authorization, and do not swim in wild seas.

When there is a typhoon, even if there is no wind or rain, do not go to the beach.

When you arrive at the beach, look for rip current warning signs and try to swim or surf within sight of lifeguards.
