Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 9th that 1,934 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
300 more people than on the same day the previous week, the highest ever for a Tuesday.
A total of 145,322 people were confirmed to be infected.
Four more deaths were announced, bringing the total number of deaths in the prefecture to 423.
The number of seriously ill patients decreased by one from the 8th to 14.
