The death notice was shared on Instagram by his son Lamont Dozier Jr.

Dozier began working at the Motown record label in 1962 and started the Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting trio with brothers Brian and Eddie Holland.

They then wrote super hits like "Baby love" and "Where did our love go" with The Supremes.

In 1988, the trio was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Two years later, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
