The Moroccan international has confirmed that he will not leave Angers this season.
As he begins his second season in the French elite, Azzedine Ounahi is already thinking of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

I am 22 years old, I have a World Cup waiting for me.
I will be given more responsibilities on the pitch.
I will be up to what the coach asks of me and what the club expects of me
, ”commented Azzedine Ounahi after the meeting against Nantes on Sunday August 7.

I have a different role from last season.
I was a young man who came from National.
I had to prove to everyone that I am a Ligue 1 player. I have a different role, I am a technical leader in the team.
Going to Morocco also allowed me to take on more responsibilities.

,” Ounahi also said.
The midfielder, born in Casablanca and trained at Raja, had been the object of many desires in recent weeks.
Lille had even had the idea of signing him.
But the president of Angers, Saïd Chabane, had no intention of letting go of his player.
In July 2021, the former Avranches (National) player signed a four-year contract with Angers.

Azzedine Ounahi honored his first cap with the Atlas Lions in January 2022 during the first match of CAN 2022 against Ghana.
Ounahi is part of a talented young generation which is beginning to gain momentum in the Moroccan selection.
