Dagens nyheter has published a series of articles during the summer about alleged security flaws at Sweden's radio and its VMA function.

As a result of the review, the authority for social protection and preparedness, MSB, which is responsible for the VMA system, has concluded that it takes the information that has come to light seriously.

At the end of July, both parties were called to a meeting in the Riksdag's defense committee.

The hearing was held on Tuesday.

What will happen now?

- I can't answer that.

We continue to constantly strengthen our IT security, even that which is not connected to total defence.

Then we will have a dialogue with our supervisory authority, the County Administrative Board, and if they find any shortcomings, we will correct them, says Cilla Benkö.

"Good that we are being audited"

SR's CEO Cilla Benkö has all along maintained via blog posts and a debate article that DN's review is misleading.

She believes that the articles lacked essential factual information and that these were not corrected despite drawing attention to the deficiencies.

- It is good that we are being audited and we take it seriously.

But when we notice that facts that give more of an overall picture and a more accurate picture are not published, then we have to publish it ourselves.

At the same time, she has been criticized for not appearing for interviews and because SR is considered to have trivialized the information.

- I think I handled this to the best of my ability, which means that when you are asked as CEO, you ask yourself the question: am I the one to do the interview?

And I did that first.

Then there were detailed questions and then I think as CEO that the most important thing is that we give correct answers, then the experts did it.

Benkö: "Of course I want to stay"

Can you stay?

-

I don't decide that, the board decides that.

But it's clear that I want to stay, I think it's fun and exciting to be CEO of Sweden's radio.

Again, no one has demonstrated that we have had any problems historically or that we have any problems today in terms of our security work within total defense.
