  The National Centre for the Performing Arts Chorus, under the command of Wu Lingfen, presented a refreshing and elegant concert that night.   In the second half of the concert, the choir performed a very rare large-scale work in Chinese choral history, "Song of Everlasting Sorrow". This is the first oratorio in the modern history of our country. It is adapted from Bai Juyi's epic poem "Song of Everlasting Regret".

The work has very strict requirements on the vocal conditions of the singers. That night was the second time the NCPA chorus performed "Song of Everlasting Regret". This great and poetic work once again attracted the attention of the audience under the command of Wu Lingfen .

  According to reports, the 2022 National Centre for the Performing Arts August Chorus Festival with the theme of "Poetry and Music Years" will also successively present five wonderful performances to the audience.

On August 10, the flowing time-Gong Linna's 24 solar term ancient poetry chorus concert will use spring, summer, autumn and winter as four musical chapters, showing the charm of Chinese culture in an all-round way and recording the passage of time.

On August 11, the chorus of the China Symphony Orchestra will fully display the immortal melody written by Nie Er and Xian Xinghai in a variety of ways, sing the horn of the times with singing, and inherit the red blood with art.

On August 20, the Beijing Philharmonic Choir, known as the "Double Olympic Choir", will singly perform excellent choral works with different Chinese and Western styles, taking you back to the "Golden Childhood".

On August 21, the chorus of the Central Chinese Orchestra will stage a concert of "Sound Poetry Runs Zhuxian", focusing on the traditional form of "Sound Poetry", which is composed of lyrics and music.

On August 26, at the closing concert of the August Chorus Festival, the Central Opera House Chorus will stage a number of classic works re-arranged with the theme of Mao Zedong's poems, reproducing the broad-mindedness and lofty aspirations of the great statesman.
