The white paper is intended to be an academic review of SD's history and connection to far-right movements.

Martin Kinnunen, who is a member of SD's executive committee and project manager for the white paper, has previously said that it is important that the author is politically independent.

- We have searched for an external person who is not active and committed to our party and who has not been politically involved at all and that has been part of the requirement profile, he said earlier in an interview with Ekot.

The author Tony Gustafsson has previously received criticism for having written a report for the SD-linked think tank Oikos.

Now Expressen's investigation shows that he has even stronger connections to the Sweden Democrats and became a member of the party in 2017.

Tony Gustafsson tells Expressen that he does not want to comment on his party membership:

- It is a choice I have made not to let ideological beliefs, political positions or possible memberships, so to speak, become part of this discussion.

Kulturnyheterna is looking for Martin Kinnunen and Tony Gustafsson.
