[Explanation] On August 5th, Du Chaonian, an 82-year-old inheritor of the modern technology of Liubao tea in Guangxi, held an apprenticeship ceremony in Nanning, Guangxi. He accepted two apprentices and taught them the tea-making craftsmanship that he has studied for 60 years.

During the reign of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, Liu Pao tea was ranked among the twenty-fourth tea in China and became a royal tribute with its "red, strong and aged alcohol" and unique betel nut fragrance. After the founding of New China, Liu Pao tea was mainly used for export to earn foreign exchange and sell to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Region and Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea and other countries, well-known at home and abroad.

  [Explanation] In 2014, the dark tea production skills (Liu Pao tea production skills) were approved by the State Council and included in the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.

Du Chaonian is a senior engineer in Chinese tea science, a legend in the Liubao tea industry, and the former director of Wuzhou Tea Factory in Guangxi. He has been engaged in tea production and technology research for 60 years.

At the ceremony of accepting apprentices, ceremonies such as receiving the apprenticeship, offering five rituals, serving tea, and giving precepts were carried out in turn.

  This process is the most mature and complete process in the current large-scale production of Liu Pao tea. This time I am accepting apprentices to pass on this process and carry it forward.

  [Explanation] The process mentioned by Du Chaonian is the cold water stacking technique, which solves the deficiencies and problems of the previous cold and hot fermentation process technology, which greatly shortens the aging period of Liubao tea, and the brewed tea soup is red and translucent. The taste is mellow and pure, and the tea is fragrant, which is comparable to Lao Liubao, which has been aged for more than ten years.

The perfection, maturity and standardization of this process have realized the development and upgrading of Liubao tea from the traditional farming tea form to the modern technological innovation tea industry, and enhanced the industrialization and scale of Liubao tea.

  We are now working with Guangxi Vocational and Technical College to build the Liupao Tea Modern Technology Laboratory. We not only accept one or two apprentices, but in this laboratory, through practical training, we have cultivated a large number of inheritors of the Liupao Tea process. .

  [Explanation] In January 2022, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Promotion of the High-Quality Development of Guangxi Liubao Tea and the Characteristic and Advantageous Tea Industry", clearly proposing to vigorously support enterprises to make the Liubao tea industry bigger and stronger, and strive to Develop the tea industry into a pillar industry to help rural revitalization, take Guangxi Liupao Tea as the engine, promote the high-quality development of Guangxi's tea industry with advantages and characteristics, and build a 100 billion yuan tea industry in Guangxi. 55 billion yuan.
