Kagawa Prefecture announced on the 7th that 1,700 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
It is the second highest number ever since 1714 on August 3rd.
It was also announced that two men in their 70s, two men in their 80s, and a woman over the age of 90, who had been infected so far, had died.
In addition, the prefecture withdrew the two people announced as infected on the 5th and 6th, citing duplication.
A total of 79,584 people have been confirmed infected in Kagawa Prefecture, and 164 people have died.
