Maternity: practical guide to plan pregnancy and (if possible) not get caught by the bull
Breastmilk ice creams, the latest to relieve the heat of babies
What better way to take advantage
of World Breastfeeding Week
(from August 1 to 7) than sharing the experiences of each one.
This is how the Minister of Equality,
Irene Montero
(34), has thought, who has published a summary of her experiences on her Instagram account, accompanied by a striking photo in which she is seen
with a double breast pump.
Because the case of Irene Montero is particular, since her first motherhood, as the breast pump shows, was double, that of her twins
Leo and Manuel, who are now 4 years old.
A path of its own for each breastfeeding
With this publication, and the narration of her own experience, Montero has wanted, as reflected in her post, to work so that
all women can choose their path
also in breastfeeding without guilt or shame,
"without the questioning of a society
who still believes that decisions about our own bodies are not ours alone.

"The decisions we make about breastfeeding," continues the Minister for Equality, "do not make us better or worse mothers; above all, they should
always be respected
and should have the support of a network that supports, accompanies and cares for them"
Irene Montero's first breastfeeding experience, double
As the Minister of Equality explains in her story, each maternity, and
each breastfeeding, is a world.
"If all the breastfeeding experiences that I have lived and shared with my friends over the years have one thing in common, it is that almost none have been as we expected. We have had to learn together and on the fly," she says on Instagram.
Along the same lines, YS spoke to Yo Dona, giving his own testimony also on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week, that breastfeeding must be experienced to know what it is.
In YS's mind, those idyllic images "that they sell us of calm mothers breastfeeding, that everything is
perfect,
do a lot of damage on this subject. You have to be realistic and tell things as they are, that's the best way to defend
breastfeeding
.
Little idyllic, but without drama or stigma, is the photo that Irene Montero has shared.
It reflects a moment of her breastfeeding period with her twins, a 'new mother' twice.
"My first lactation, that of Leo and Manuel, was basically this:
a double breast pump
every three hours for more than three months. That milk was Leo and Manuel's food and what was left over, as other mothers of premature babies did, We donated to the Gregorio Marañón milk bank for other creatures. How much we owe to public health, to all its professionals, to Manuel Sanchez Luna," Montero recounted.
The key to dealing with the situation?
"Along the way I learned, I saw hundreds of videos from
@albapadibclc, I
shared experiences with many friends, I talked about breastfeeding on a recurring basis, I read and experienced very intense emotions," she explains.

It should be remembered that the
World Health Organization
advises that children be exclusively breastfed during their first six months and "scientific evidence says that there is no other milk to carry out breastfeeding nutritionally better than that of mothers" , assures
Gema Magdaleno
, primary care midwife and adviser to the Chicco brand.
With Aitana, another experience
On August 2, 2019, Montero and Pablo Iglesias welcomed their third daughter,
Aitana,
with whom the breastfeeding experience was very different than with the twins, always according to the minister on Instagram.
"With Aitana things were very different and we have had
two and a half years of tit,
from which she said goodbye when we both decided," she says.
