It's going to be crazy.

The heatwave episode that France is going through is changing and if the temperatures remain indecently high, they will now be accompanied by thunderstorms in certain French departments.

Météo France placed a good part of France on Thursday in orange vigilance (all the yellow parts of the map).

According to its forecasts, thunderstorms are expected this afternoon in the Pays de la Loire, in the Centre-Val de Loire, but also in the northeast of New Aquitaine towards La Rochelle.

"At the end of the day, the activity can be occasionally strong, with a small risk of hail and gusts" in these regions indicates Météo-France in its bulletin.

In the evening, it is Ile-de-France which could be affected by thunderstorms, then the Grand Est between Reims, Metz and Chaumont, as well as part of Burgundy-Franche-Comté towards Auxerre.

“Next night and until tomorrow morning, stormy showers are circulating from Limousin, northern Auvergne and Burgundy to Ile-France, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine”, indicates Météo-France.

Friday afternoon thunderstorms will develop quickly over the Pyrenees, the Alps and the Massif Central to the Cévennes (find out well before setting off on a hike).
