On July 31, two tourists were swept into the sea by wind and waves in the waters near May Fourth Square in Shinan District, Qingdao.

At noon on August 3, as the second missing tourist was found, both of them were confirmed to have died.

  At 17:02 on July 31, the command center of the Qingdao Fire Rescue Detachment received an alarm that it was located in the waters near the intersection of Macau Road and Jinping Road, Wusi Square, Shinan District, Qingdao. At that time, during the high tide, two tourists climbed over. The guardrail was accidentally swept into the sea while taking pictures.

  At 12:35 on August 1, near the reef on the east side of the Third Beach in Qingdao, rescuers found one of the tourists in distress.

  On August 3, Qingdao Fire Department dispatched a fire rescue helicopter to continue the search in the sea area where the incident occurred.

At 10:58, the Qingdao fire rescue helicopter found a person who fell into the water at sea. Until 11:25, after being salvaged and ashore by various personnel, it was confirmed as the second missing tourist.
