Horsemen of the Republican Guard will provide security in Annecy

Two horsemen from the Republican Guard joined the soldiers of the departmental gendarmerie company of Annecy (Haute-Savoie) for the summer.

They have come to reinforce the police forces mobilized to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Six Republican Guard horses accompany the two soldiers of the prestigious branch.

These are animals that participated in the military parade organized on July 14 in Paris, on the Champs-Elysées.

Their riders are deployed throughout the department.

They operate in particular around Lake Geneva and Annecy or near mountain villages.

Help from the department

Their mission is to ensure safety and prevention around events organized during the summer holidays in Haute-Savoie.

The Republican Guards are also responsible for deterrence and information operations.

The department has made available to them the van they use to transport their horses.
