On the 29th, a 44-year-old father and a 5-year-old eldest daughter were confirmed dead in an accident in which three parents and children who were visiting Tsuji Island in Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture to catch crustaceans were swept away into the sea.

The 8-year-old eldest son who was swept away with him is not in a life-threatening condition.

Around 5:00 pm on the 29th, three parents and children living in Kumamoto City, who were visiting to catch a crustacean called "Kamenote", were swept out to sea on the coast of Tsuji Island in Futae, Itsuwa-cho, Amakusa City.



The three were soon rescued by a local fishing boat, but Tsuyoshi Okuma (44), who had been transported to a hospital unconscious and in serious condition, died on the night of the 29th, and his eldest daughter Wakasaki (5) also died on the afternoon of the 30th. He was confirmed dead four hours ago.



The 8-year-old eldest son who was swept away with him is not in a life-threatening condition.



According to the police, Mr. Okuma was visiting the coast of Tsuji Island with a group of 13 people from four families from Kumamoto City and other places.



Around 5:00 pm on the 29th, when the three people were washed away, a strong wind warning was issued with a maximum wind speed of 15 meters due to Typhoon No. 5, and the police are investigating the detailed situation at that time.
