The contagion curve continues to decline for the fourth consecutive week in Spain.

Diagnoses have been reduced considerably, reaching

26,018 positives for Covid in the latest report

provided by the Ministry of Health.

A figure that represents 13,071 fewer cases than those published three days ago.

In addition, the group of people over 60 years of age corresponds to 14,764 of the infections reported today.

The latest data consolidates the decline of the curve, which implies that

the highest peak of infections in the seventh wave has already been exceeded.

Let us remember that the month of

July began with 84,146

(in the publication of the first of the month), however, today there are 58,128 cases less than those counted in the last report.

The month of July began with the highest figures of the entire seventh wave.

During the second week of the month, the data from the Ministry had an average of

77,715 positive

infections (71,818 on 07/05 and 83,613 on 07/08).

During that first band, the seventh wave left behind the highest peak of positives for Covid and gave way to the downward curve that would continue until today.

In the third week, the average number of infections was reduced to 58,430 positives (59,226 on 07/12 and 57,635 on 07/15), followed by 57,193 during the fourth week of the month, a figure that continued to decline except for the drastic rise experienced after the San Fermín festivities.

The data for that week increased to 72,704, of which 33,838 occurred in Navarra.

Instead, today's report contains

387 positives from the Navarrese territory.

Despite the week's increase, the figures continue to be lower than those reported at the beginning of the month.

Hospitalizations are down

Regarding the hospital situation, which already experienced a decrease in the last report, and remains for another week.

Health has declared

8,433 admitted Covid patients and 460 in the ICU.

This figure represents 1,393 hospitalizations less than three days ago.

Hospital pressure has been decongesting over the weeks, unlike the

10,249 hospitalized at the beginning of the month.

Instead, compared to previous waves, a year ago (report of July 29, 2021) Spanish hospitals housed 9,725 and 1,644 in ICUs, a figure similar to that of this summer but with a greater difference in intensive care patients.

At the national level, between weeks 27/2022 (July 4 - 10) and 28/2022 (July 11 - 17),

the weekly hospitalization rate decreases by 18%.

A significant decrease in all age groups except for

young people aged 20-29 and those aged 60 and over.

According to the data analyzed by the

National Epidemiological Surveillance Network (

RNVE), significant decreases in hospitalization rates have been observed in the territories of

Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Galicia, Madrid, Navarra and the Country. Basque.

92.7% of the population has the complete pattern

Hospital pressure and severity of admissions have decreased compared to the figures of the previous year.

Currently,

92.7% of people over 12 years of age have the complete regimen

and

54.2% have received the booster dose,

according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

In contrast, a year ago, at the end of July, only 54.7% of the population had the full regimen administered.

The increase in the vaccinated population has been reflected both in the severity of Covid positives and in their mortality.

The month of July opened with 502 deaths (in the report of July 5), however, today,

Health has reported 353 deaths, 149 less than three weeks ago.
