Bob Dylan (or rather his lawyers) never took the accusations seriously, but he can now sleep easy: the woman, who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the interpreter of

Blowin' in the Wind

, withdrew her complaint.

Last year, an anonymous accuser claimed she was raped by the singer, over a six-week period, in New York City in 1965 when she was a minor.

She added that the folk star had drugged her and encouraged her to drink alcohol, inflicting serious "emotional scars and psychological damage".

When the lawsuit was filed last year, the star's lawyers had already brushed off the allegations, calling them "false, malicious, dangerous and defamatory" and "brazen extortion disguised as a lawsuit".

The first preliminary hearing seems to have gone in their direction.

Against all expectations, the accused showed up without her lawyers after dismissing them and asked herself that her complaint be dismissed.

Bob Dylan will therefore not be worried.

Chaotic

It must be said that the procedure was very chaotic.

According to Billboard, the accuser was in a complicated situation as soon as it was proven by the defense that she had destroyed texts and e-mails essential to the case.

The publication does not specify the nature of the documents in question, but the judge in charge of the case immediately took the initiative by indicating to the complainant that if she did not manage to produce them in court, she would incur serious penalties. .

In the process, the prosecution lawyers were dismissed, and the outcome of this Thursday's hearing seemed sealed.

“This case is over.

It is outrageous that it could have happened in the first place.

We are pleased that the plaintiff waives this sham lawyer and that the case is dismissed, ”concluded Orin Snyder, the lawyer for Bob Dylan.
