According to the prefecture, of the three people who died, elementary school girls under the age of 10 had an underlying illness and had a fever on the 26th of this month, so they visited a medical institution.
Her symptoms did not improve, so she was hospitalized the next day after seeing her, but her condition suddenly changed and she died.
This is the first time a child under the age of 10 has died in the prefecture.
Regarding the death of a child under the age of 10, Takako Nojiri, director of Wakayama Prefecture, said, "The direct cause of death is infection with the new corona, and the underlying cause is an indirect factor. The number of infected people has increased sharply. This is the biggest cause, and it extends to people with weak infections. I would like to ask you to thoroughly implement basic infection countermeasures. "
