The Academy Film Museum in Los Angeles hosted the world premiere of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon.

Actors walked the red carpet, including Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith and others.

After that, the guests were shown the first episode of the upcoming project, as well as a brief overview of subsequent episodes.

The premiere was attended by bloggers, critics and journalists, who briefly but willingly shared their impressions of the first episode on social networks.

Many of those present were delighted with the series.

“The series is sooooo good!”

Producer David Mandel said on Twitter.

“Get ready: the series will blow your mind,” wrote another user.

"Blimey.

HBO's House of the Dragon is very good,” another blogger noted.

The editor of Bald Move also shared a review.

In his opinion, fans of the "Game of Thrones" will like the prequel, especially if the entire season is the same as the first series.

“I think the first episode of House of the Dragon will easily recapture the interest of curious fans after the blurry ending of Game of Thrones.

In my opinion, they deserve the loyalty of the fans for one season, if it is entirely the same as the promising first episode that I watched.

Watch out, A Song of Ice and Fire is back!

— wrote the author.

Editor-in-Chief of Collider Steven Weintraub agreed with his colleagues: he said that the viewer can expect "a lot of sex, blood, violence and dragons" from the "Dragon House".

“I didn’t like the last season of Game of Thrones.

At all.

But I admit that the premiere of "House of the Dragon" is very good, and I will definitely continue to watch it.

After the end of the episode, an extended preview of the season was shown, and it looked cool, ”said Weintraub.

Another Twitter user said that House of the Dragon is like the series Descendants about the owners of a media conglomerate, only in the world of Game of Thrones.

Another blogger posted a video review with first impressions after watching an episode of the series.

He noted that the "House of the Dragon" is not similar to the "Game of Thrones", however, the author was completely delighted.

“The series is going to be a big hit.

The first big conclusion: it doesn't look like Game of Thrones.

It reminds more of A Song of Ice and Fire, the real Westeros... and maybe the early seasons of Game of Thrones, but even more serious.

Everything feels very realistic, without embellishment ... The series will be great, just great, ”the viewer believes.

He also talked about the main characters, who he says "have a lot of nuance".

According to the blogger, Matt Smith's Damon Targaryen "is sure to outshine everyone", and he saw the strength of character in the young Rainier.

“Young Rainier has a toughness that I didn't expect, a very interesting character.

They definitely didn’t whitewash her, ”the author noted.

Another netizen also considered the prequel a success and called the first episode "spectacular and impressive".

He is sure that the series will hook viewers who have read and not read the novel.

The blogger clarified that the prequel will have a lot of action, thoughtful dialogue, references to the Game of Thrones, as well as sex, tears, violence and dragons.

To the chagrin of those in attendance, House of the Dragon writer and creator George Martin was unable to attend the world premiere of the series.

On the eve of the event, he announced his positive test for COVID-19.

The author noted that he was "surprised, like everyone else" and that due to quarantine he will have to miss several events in Los Angeles, including the premiere.

However, Martin does not despair - he promised the fans that he would return to meetings after his recovery, and also continue to write "Winds of Winter" as soon as he was at his home in Santa Fe.

At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, one of the writers and producers of the tape, Ryan Kondal, said that in the "House of the Dragon" viewers will see a new world of Westeros - Driftmark, an island in Blackwater Bay, not far from Dragonstone.

It also became known that more than 15 dragons will appear in the prequel, work on which began even before the filming of the series.

In addition, George Martin, while communicating with fans at the event, noted that there would be no absolutely evil or good characters in the tape.

The writer believes that the most interesting characters are those who are capable of both generosity, kindness and love, and of what they will later be ashamed of.

House of the Dragon, based on the novel Fire and Blood, will premiere on August 21.

In Russia, the show will be released on August 22.

The action of the tape takes place 200 years before the events shown in the Game of Thrones.

Fans will see the history of the Targaryen family and the civil war called "The Dance of the Dragon".

A full trailer for the prequel was released in July.

It reveals the details of the plot.

It becomes clear that King Viserys (Paddy Considine) has to name the heir to the Iron Throne, but cannot choose between his brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), and his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy).

As a result, the choice falls on Rainier - before her, not a single woman sat on the iron throne, but this does not frighten her.

However, not everyone agrees with the chosen candidate.

So, the young wife of the king, Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), who, according to the book, gave birth to three sons-heirs, is not at all happy with Rainier in the role of queen.

The political confrontation between the parties eventually leads to a civil war.
