Kunshan has a long history, profound culture and unique natural landscape.

The "Yushan Yaji" born in Kunshan at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, together with the "Lanting Yaji" in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the "Xiyuan Yaji" in the Northern Song Dynasty, are known as the "three elegant collections" in the history of Chinese culture.

In order to carry forward this cultural tradition and create the brand of "Jiangnan Culture", Kunshan calligraphers represented by Huo Guoqiang, together with well-known domestic painters, planned and created a number of literary and artistic works showing the historical and cultural heritage and characteristics of Kunshan.

They wrote Kunqu Opera lyrics, painted Kunqu Opera figures, and recited Kunshan scenic spots, which not only introduced unique and rich content to the creation of calligraphy and painting, but also made meaningful attempts for the dissemination and interpretation of Kunqu Opera.

Since 2008, Huo Guoqiang has started to create calligraphy works with the themes of "Yushan Yaji Culture" and "Kunqu Opera Culture", which have been held in San Francisco Silicon Valley Asia Art Center, China Liu Haisu Art Museum (Shanghai), Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum and other places.
