Why did Kate Moss testify for Johnny Depp in his high-profile trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard?
This question, many observers have asked themselves during (and since) the hearing where the model defended the reputation of her ex, even though she had revealed, in 2008, that he had broken her heart during of their breakup in 1998. During the trial, Kate Moss had been called to react to the allegations of Amber Heard who had declared to have intervened during an argument between Johnny Depp and his sister, because she remembered “the incident of the staircase” .

actress then explained that she had heard a rumor according to which the actor had pushed the supermodel down the stairs after a drunken evening in Jamaica.
The model had detailed what had really happened between her and her companion at the time.
“Johnny left the [hotel] room before me.
There had been a thunderstorm, and on leaving the room, I slipped down the stairs and hurt my back.
I screamed, because I didn't know what had happened to me, and I was in pain, and he came running back to help me and carried me to my room, and got me treated." , she said at the bar.
This testimony had helped Johnny Depp to win his lawsuit against Amber Heard, who has since appealed the decision.
