[Explanation] From July 22 to 24, the 2022 China International Travel Fair (hereinafter referred to as "Travel Fair") was held in Kunming, Yunnan.

[Explanation] The reporter saw in the international exhibition area that although the tourism industry has been greatly affected by the epidemic in recent years, this travel fair still attracted 71 countries and regions to participate in the conference through online and offline methods.

South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and other countries also set up booths on the spot to actively negotiate and seek cooperation.

[Explanation] Malaysia is rich and diverse in resources and is one of the popular destinations for Chinese tourists to travel abroad.

It is understood that with the epidemic under control, Malaysia has basically opened up to foreign tourism in April this year, and the tourism industry has begun to gradually recover.

[Concurrent] Yan Caixing, Director of South China Region, Tourism Malaysia

From April this year, Malaysia has been opened to all countries that can travel, and we welcome them to come to Malaysia.

In the previous month, we have recovered almost 2 million people and started to come to Malaysia, and we estimate that there will be almost 4 million people coming to Malaysia by the end of the year.

In 2019, almost 3 million Chinese tourists came to Malaysia. (Chinese tourists cannot come to Malaysia), it still has a big impact on us, because (before the epidemic) the Chinese market ranked third, so less (China market) we still have almost 20% to 30% fewer travelers from China to Malaysia.

[Explanation] The epidemic has also spawned online live broadcasts and other methods to "plant grass" Malaysian tourist attractions and delicacies to international tourists.

[Concurrent] Yan Caixing, Director of South China Region, Tourism Malaysia

We directly called (bloggers) to start a live broadcast in Malaysia, and then promoted it to China through our Weibo, to know what our current situation in Malaysia is. Last week, we did a special live broadcast, which was to explain about cats in Malaysia. Shan Wang (durian), what is the Musang King durian, so they went to the Musang King Durian Farm and broadcast live there, directly to the Chinese here (understand).

[Explanation] China has always been Thailand's largest source of tourists. In 2019, Thailand received 11 million Chinese tourists.

Yunnan Province is the most convenient land passage from China to Thailand, and Thailand was also the first choice for Yunnan tourists to travel abroad before the epidemic.

At present, Thailand's tourism industry is also actively transforming and recovering.

[Concurrent] Su Hong, Director of the Kunming Office of the National Tourism Administration of Thailand

In the late stage of the epidemic, not only the Thai government, but also hotels, restaurants and travel agencies in Thailand are undergoing active transformation.

On the one hand, it learns the latest standards for epidemic prevention and control, and improves its own service level and business environment.

On the other hand, when it was impossible to travel during the epidemic, Thailand's natural environment has also been greatly improved.

The ecological environment such as the sea and the forest have been restored like never before, so the natural scenery has been greatly improved.

In 2022, Thailand has proposed a theme for a new chapter in Thailand tourism.

For all aspects of Thailand tourism, including fashion, diet, sports, fitness and other aspects have been upgraded and recommended.

[Explanation] Su Hong said that the epidemic has had a great impact on Thailand's tourism industry.

China has always been one of the most important and largest source markets for Thailand.

Both the Thai government and the Thai people are looking forward to Chinese tourists to travel to Thailand as soon as possible.

It is also hoped that Chinese tourists will still be able to take Thailand as their preferred destination for outbound travel.
