The wedding of a tire dealer in Gammertingen (Sigmaringen district) in Baden-Württemberg ended in the night from Saturday to Sunday with a major fire and damage worth millions.

Next to the premises of his company, 61-year-old Bruno G. celebrated his wedding with his 38-year-old wife and around 300 guests on Saturday evening.

G. is one of the largest tire dealers in southern Germany. According to the "Schwäbische Zeitung", his wedding included an extensive show program.

So jets flew over the party, later pop singer DJ Ötzi performed in Gammertingen.

At 10:30 p.m., fireworks are said to have been set off on the private property, and at 11:30 p.m. the first emergency reports were received by the fire brigade.

A new warehouse and the company's administration building caught fire.

Whether the wedding party's fireworks caused the fire has yet to be determined.

Apparently, the entrepreneur had taken his own safety precautions with a fire watch.

According to the fire department, welded-in tires contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

380 firefighters from four counties were deployed.

Four people suffered from smoke inhalation and had to be treated in hospitals.
