The naturist tourism market is doing well and the information has not escaped those responsible for welcoming visitors to Sardinia.

They intend to do what is necessary to recover part of the manna brought by this sector.

Because Europe would have 20 million followers of naturism, including 50,000 in Italy alone, indicates

.

To attract these customers, the Italian island has big plans.

For example, it is studying the creation of hotels and hiking trails for naturists.

A holiday village reserved for them is also planned.

In the meantime, local initiatives have already been taken.

A part of the beach of San Vero Milis (Italy) has thus been designated as reserved for naked users.

Nudity is not unanimous

The mayor wishes to extend the measure to other areas of his city, highlighting the respect for the environment that he has observed among the naturists who have come to his town.

Still, the practice does not pass with all the inhabitants of Italy and particularly of Sardinia.

Its detractors do not accept nudity in certain places visible to the general public or considered sacred.

In the country, naturism was a crime punishable by law until the Italian Supreme Court made the law less strict in 2006. Today, practitioners are still liable to be fined.

This can reach 10,000 euros, said the Italian naturist association Anita.

The latter has also set up a legal aid system to assist people who have been fined.
