In high temperature weather, in order to ensure the normal operation of power facilities, electric power employees stand on the front line of power protection against the scorching sun and sweltering heat.

Use your sweat in exchange for the coolness of thousands of homes.

Electricity workers stick to the front line in the sweltering heat

In the recycling industrial park in Yujiang District, Yingtan, Jiangxi Province, at an altitude of 20 meters, fully-armed electrical maintenance workers are performing maintenance and equipment replacement.

Rao Risong, senior maintenance engineer of the power supply company in Yujiang District, Yingtan City, State Grid: If the insulating clothing is covered with a layer of shielding, the temperature in our body will actually be higher.

For our operators, it is a big challenge.

After more than 5 hours of hard work, the faulty equipment was replaced, and the hidden dangers of electricity safety for enterprises and residents in the park were eliminated.

Zhou Jinhua, manager of the power supply company in Yujiang District, Yingtan City, State Grid: This live work can keep 27 enterprises and more than 1,240 households without power.

The power repair personnel not only experienced the scorching sun, but also endured the sultry heat of the underground cable channel. On Shanbanqiao Road in Chengdu, two cable operation and maintenance personnel were inspecting the main underground cables in the city.

Wu Yongye, cable inspection engineer of State Grid Chengdu Power Supply Company: During the peak summer season, in addition to conducting full-coverage daily inspections of more than 1,400 kilometers of high-voltage cables in Chengdu, we also added night inspections and special training for heavy-duty lines. The length of personal inspections per day has increased from the previous three kilometers to six or seven kilometers.

At present, tens of thousands of power workers across the country are sticking to their posts, strengthening power grid inspections, eliminating hidden faults in time, giving priority to ensuring people's livelihood, and maintaining the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

Intelligent "little helper" to guard the big power grid

During the peak summer season, not only the electric power people are silently holding on, but also a large number of intelligent "little helpers" are also playing their role, guarding the lights of thousands of homes.

In the 220 kV Lilac Substation in Tacheng, Xinjiang, an intelligent inspection robot is replacing manual labor under the scorching sun, carrying out the daily inspection of equipment.

From time to time, it stopped, raised its head, and read data such as temperature and oil level at each observation point.

In the inspection room, the staff can see the data returned by the intelligent inspection robot in real time.

Intelligent helpers like intelligent inspection robots are playing a role in the operation of power systems in many parts of the country.

In Pingyin, Shandong, technological equipment such as drones and infrared imagers are on duty 24 hours a day, and key inspections are carried out on 31 transmission lines, 18 substations, 110 distribution lines, and 1,876 distribution stations in the area. No safety hazard at all.

The reporter learned from the State Grid that the current national power supply and demand is generally stable, the power grid is operating safely, and the power supply is orderly.
