Just 30 years ago, in Lahti, Finland, Lake Vesijärvi was still extremely polluted.

Until four years ago, the authorities were burning coal to supply district heating.

But, in 2021, the city was rewarded for its ecological commitment and was elected European Green Capital.

Today, Lahti aims to be the first carbon-neutral city in all of Finland.

It would be a small feat for this city with a heavy industrial past.

And this bet is on the way to being successful.

ENTR traveled to this city a few kilometers from Helsinki to understand what triggered this ecological revolution.

📲 ENTR, what is it?

🇪🇺 It's a European project dedicated to youth, 100% on social networks.

ENTR is available in 6 languages: French, English, German, Romanian, Portuguese and Polish
