China News Service, Beijing, July 21 (Reporter Chen Su) The reporter learned from the National Climate Center on the 21st that since June, persistent high temperature weather has occurred in many places in China. The national average temperature is 22.1 ℃, the highest in history since 1961.

Statistics from the National Climate Center show that from June 1 to July 20, the number of high-temperature days in southern Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, and northeastern Jiangnan in China was more than 10 days higher than normal, and the daily maximum temperature at many sites exceeded historical extremes. value.

At the same time, the high temperature in many places around the world is not going down.

Since June, record-breaking high temperature heat waves have occurred in many places in East Asia, Western Europe, North Africa and North America.

In particular, on July 14th, Portugal experienced a high temperature of 47°C, breaking the country's high temperature record in July; on July 19th, an unprecedented large-scale sweltering high temperature occurred in the UK, breaking high temperature records in many places, and 40.2°C at London Heathrow Airport. This is the first time the UK has recorded high temperatures above 40°C.

After the high temperature eased briefly from July 18 to 20, from the 21st, affected by the stable maintenance of the subtropical high, the high temperature in Jiangnan, central and northern South China, Xinjiang and other places will develop and strengthen again.

According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days, the high temperature range in southern China will expand again, and the intensity will gradually increase. It will exceed 7 days, and some areas will exceed 9 days; the daily maximum temperature will reach or exceed 40°C in some areas such as Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and parts of the Xinjiang Southern Basin and Turpan Basin.

In addition, there will also be periodic high temperature weather in the eastern part of Northwest China, the Sichuan Basin, central and southern North China, and Huanghuai.

Fu Jiaolan, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that compared with the high temperature weather process from July 5 to 17, the impact range of this high temperature weather process is similar, but the range of high temperatures of 40°C and above may be larger.

In response to the impact of high temperature, Fu Guerlain reminded that relevant departments need to make early warning reminders, implement protective measures, and ensure electricity and water use; enterprises should allocate operating hours reasonably and avoid outdoor operations during high temperature periods; the public should pay attention to heatstroke prevention and cooling, and reduce outdoor exposure under high temperature. Activities, pay attention to electricity safety.
