While the prefect of Hauts-de-Seine launched the level three heat wave plan on Monday, the mayor of Rueil-Malmaison also took action.

He decided to reserve access to the Arsenal aquatic center and the Closeaux swimming pool only to the inhabitants of the town and to holders of a subscription, reports Actu Hauts-de-Seine.

The objective is to allow Rueillois to access "this space of freshness before the gauge is reached due to the influx of external users", explained the communication department of the city.

During previous heat waves, residents had complained of not being able to enter the swimming pools.

A legitimate right

The city thus wished to favor “users, who have the legitimate right to take advantage of the municipal swimming pool of their place of residence”.

Already taken previously, this measure complements others triggered in the event of a transition to level three.

Vulnerable people are thus listed and contacted regularly by the Maison de l'autonomie in Rueil-Malmaison.
