RFI: Estelle Johnson, first of all, a reaction after this 1-0 victory against Botswana which allows Cameroon to keep a chance of going to the World Cup.

Is it a satisfaction after the disappointment of having failed in the quarter-finals of this CAN 2022 against Nigeria (0-1)?

Estelle Johnson

: Yes, of course, because nothing is above the World Cup.

This was our first objective from the start.

Obviously, we wanted to win the African Cup of Nations.

But the World Cup is the biggest event.

So that's what we're going to focus on now.

Cameroon is however not yet qualified for the World Cup.

Do you feel like you have regained a certain confidence tonight that you might have lost a little during this AFCON?

Yes, I really do.

The most important thing in sport is not to collapse or conversely to ignite.

All we had to do was win the matches as they came.

Tonight, we were focused on this match against Botswana and we succeeded.

Cameroon's results in recent years may not be what you expected.

On a personal level, is going to the World Cup important to you?

My main objective is to help the country.

I am a team player and the only thing I care about is winning for Cameroon.

It is true that in recent years, there have been disappointments, in particular the non-qualification for the last Olympic Games and now this CAN.

So all we can do now is focus on this 2023 World Cup.

It was your first African Cup of Nations.

How did you experience it?

I was super excited.

My main objective during this season was to be ready for this final.

Obviously, I will remember the fact that we are not playing the final.

But it's sport, what can we do about it?
