According to the information provided by the Dalongtan Golden Monkey Research Base of Shennongjia National Park recently, the Sichuan Golden Monkey, a national treasure-level flagship species living here, has shown a "three increase" phenomenon of overall increase, population increase and habitat area increase.
As of July 2022, the number of golden monkeys in Shennongjia has reached 1,483, an increase of 201 compared with 2005; the population of golden monkeys has increased from 8 to 10, and the habitat area has increased from 210 square kilometers to 354 square kilometers.
The golden snub-nosed monkey is an endemic species in China and is a national first-class protected wild animal.
The Shennongjia Sichuan golden monkey is the easternmost isolated population of the Sichuan golden monkey population in my country, and has important conservation value.
