The "Ekin Festival" in Konan City, Kochi Prefecture, was held for the first time in three years on the night of the 16th.

The "Ekin Festival" is a festival in which the paintings of the painter "Ekin" who was active from the end of the Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji era are lined up at the eaves of the shopping street in Akaoka-cho, Konan City, and once a year, they are viewed with candlelight. Due to the influence of Corona, it was canceled for the second consecutive year.

On the night of the 16th, the event was held for the first time in three years with the admission limited to 1000 people who had reserved in advance, and 18 yellowtail paintings were exhibited.

The Kabuki-themed work, which depicts the half-life of Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, depicts a famous scene in which a father sees the neck of a child who was killed in place of Michizane's child. The facial expression of a man who behaves like this is expressed.

The venue was crowded with locals and tourists, and I enjoyed taking pictures of the pictures that emerged fantastically with the candlelight.

A mother who visited her family said, "I was looking forward to seeing it at last. The paintings and the atmosphere of the festival are fascinating."

Yoshitaka Hamada, Chairman of the Executive Committee, said, "I am happy to be able to hold the event. I want to revitalize the town through the festival."

The Ekin Festival will be held on the night of the 17th.
