The outline of the ring-shaped building that will be set up as a symbol of the venue of the Osaka Kansai Expo to be held in 2025 has been announced.

The building will be a wooden structure with an area of ​​about 60,000 square meters and a ring diameter of about 600 meters, and the exhibition association, which is the implementing body, says that it is one of the largest wooden structures in the world.

The Expo Association, which is the organizer of the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo, held a press conference in Osaka City on the 13th, and revealed the outline of the huge ring-shaped building that will be set up as a symbol of the venue.

According to this, the building will be made of wood in consideration of environmental issues, the building area is about 60,000 square meters, the diameter of the ring is about 615 meters, and one lap is about 2 kilometers.



According to the Expo Association, it is one of the largest wooden buildings in the world.

The inside of the building can be freely accessed as a passage to each facility of the venue.

A sidewalk is set up on the rooftop part named "Ring Sky Walk", which means that you can overlook the Seto Inland Sea and the venue.

At a press conference, Sou Fujimoto, an architect in charge of design, said, "Japan has a long history of wooden architecture. I want to showcase Japanese architecture to the world at the Expo with the taste of traditional architecture." Said.



At the press conference, the location of the pavilion in the venue and the name of the plaza were newly announced.
