Even Brittany is not spared by the heat wave.

This shows the nature of the phenomenon that has hit France for several days.

In Vannes, the municipality announced the cancellation of the parade of historical festivals which was to take place this Wednesday.

The reason ?

The heat wave hitting the city of Morbihan forced the authorities to place the department on yellow alert this Wednesday, where 34 degrees in the shade are announced.

The event was expected to attract 20,000 people.

“Nearly 500 extras and artists in costume make up the parade.

The high temperatures present too great a risk for the good performance of the parade, both for the extras in costume and for the 20,000 spectators expected or even the animals, ”explains the municipality, which took the decision in agreement with the prefecture.

Created in 1986, the Vannes Historical Festival (street theatre, music, processions, etc.) attracts tens of thousands of spectators to this tourist town in Brittany on July 13 and 14.
