A manhole lid designed for the popular anime "Mobile Suit Gundam" has been installed in Mibu Town, Tochigi Prefecture.
This manhole lid was donated to Mibu-cho, where an affiliated company is located, in March by the Bandai Namco Group, which handles Gundam animation, in an attempt to contribute to the revitalization of the region.
On the 13th, installation work was carried out at two locations in the town, and town officials brought in the lid by car and replaced it with the one that was originally installed.
There are two types of lids, and in addition to Gundam, the robot that appears in the animation is drawn as if it were Yugao, the raw material for Kanpyo, a specialty of Mibu Town, on the lid installed near the "Toy Town" station on the Tobu-Utsunomiya Line. increase.
In addition, on the sidewalk in front of the toy exhibition facility, a lid with a special strawberry and a robot that appeared at the end of the story was installed.
The town is also exhibiting a replica of the lid in the lobby on the first floor of the government office.
