Due to the risk of fire linked to the drought, several municipalities in the Bouches-du-Rhône have decided to cancel their July 14 fireworks, as several towns in the Gard have announced.

This is particularly the case of Aubagne, Allauch, Charleval, Meyreuil or even Plan de Cuques.

After "a final consultation" with the firefighters, the mayors of the cities concerned announced that the festivities would be postponed to the end of the year.

“We took this decision because of the impossibility for our firefighters to ensure the safety of these events in all of our municipalities, as their mobilization has been important since the opening of this high-risk period”, explains Laurent. Simon, the mayor of Plan de Cuques, on Facebook.

If the fireworks are canceled, most other festivities such as balls are however maintained.
