The members of Metallica were "stunned" by the use of their

Master of Puppet

title in the Season 4 finale of

Stranger Things

.

Indeed, the song isn't just used as a background sound for a scene but (spoiler alert) is used by Eddie Munson's character (Joseph Quinn) who plays the riff on the guitar in order to distract the bats guarding the landmark of Vecna, the big villain of the series.

And the Metallica rockers couldn't have asked for a better use for one of their most famous tracks.

"The Duffer Brothers' way of incorporating music into

Stranger Things

has always been innovative, so we were more than excited that they would not just include

Master of Puppets

in the series, but build a pivotal scene. all around,” Metallica wrote in an Instagram post alongside the scene in question.

Very cool

"We were all super happy to see the end result and when it happened we were blown away... It's extremely well done, so some people were able to guess it was the song just by seeing Joseph Quinn's hands in the trailer for a few seconds!!

How can we make it cooler?

It's an incredible honor to take such a big part of Eddie's journey and once again keep company with the other amazing artists you can hear on the show,” the band added.

So who knows, after the huge buzz caused by the use of the title of Kate Bush,

Running Up That Hill

, in the first part of season 4, it may be time for the general public to rediscover Metallica!
