The three paintings were kept by a French man living in Paris, and one of them had a signature that could be read as "Taro Okamoto", so a detailed investigation was carried out.

At a press conference on the 8th, Akiomi Hirano, director of the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum, announced that it is highly possible that Taro himself drew it as a result of discussions by experts based on irony examination and scientific analysis of paints. Did.



All three points are similar to the early works published in Taro's first art book "OKAMOTO", but the way of drawing lines is not good, and it seems that it is a study drawn in Paris in the early twenties. is.



It is believed that all the paintings drawn by Taro during the Paris era were burned down in an air raid during the Pacific War after being brought back to Japan, and the existence of these three paintings was unknown.



Director Hirano of the memorial hall pointed out that "it is a record of struggling to establish my own expression, and it is the origin of Taro Okamoto."
