Beiwan, Habahe County, Altay, Xinjiang is adjacent to the Irtysh River. Because of the year-round mosquitoes, it is known as one of the four "mosquito kingdoms" in the world.

At the beginning of July every year, the mosquito density here reaches the highest level of the year. According to estimates, there are nearly 1,800 mosquitoes per cubic meter.

However, the immigration management police of the Habahe Border Management Brigade of the Xinjiang Altay Border Management Detachment stationed here must be "fully armed" and carry out border patrols in a mosquito-infested environment.
