Restoring Nairobi's oldest libraries is the challenge two Kenyans have embarked on: Angela Wachuka and Wanjiru Koinange.
One publisher, the other author, they launched The Book Bunk in 2017, an initiative that aims to preserve three public libraries in the Kenyan capital as well as their content.

At the origin of the project, the McMillan library, built in 1931 and initially reserved exclusively for Europeans.
Its building being protected by a parliamentary decree, its restoration works are still under discussion... They should start soon.
But its two branches in the east of the city have already been renovated and have become real places to live.
