Mortada Mansour pleads for Naira Ashraf and Farid Al-Deeb defends the killer for free

The announcement by the president of the Egyptian Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, of his intention to defend Naira Ashraf, a student from Mansoura, who was killed by her colleague at the Faculty of Arts, sparked a wide wave of controversy.

The Egyptian lawyer, Tariq Al-Awadi, revealed a surprise in Mortada Mansour’s announcement that he volunteered to defend the victim in the case, stressing that he does not have the right to attend the upcoming sessions in the Court of Cassation, but his plea before the court will be in the second stage if the accused’s veto is accepted.

Tariq Al-Awadi added that the upcoming sessions in the Court of Cassation concern the defense of the accused only, and a defense of the victim may not be present, noting that the court referred the civil case to the competent court and therefore neither the victim nor her heirs have the right to plead before the Court of Cassation.

Lawyer Farid El-Deeb announced that he would not back down from the decision to defend Mohamed Adel, accused of killing Naira Ashraf Talib, Mansoura, after the ruling issued by the Mansoura Criminal Court to execute the accused by hanging.

The famous lawyer, Farid El-Deeb, confirmed that he will defend Muhammad Adel, the killer of Naira Ashraf, free of charge and without any expenses or fees, indicating that he is preparing a note to veto the death sentence issued by the Mansoura Criminal Court.
