Man arrested after posting video of him trying to kill his wife on Facebook

The competent Egyptian authorities have arrested an Egyptian man who tried to kill his wife because of the latter's request for separation, according to the "Al-Youm Al-Sabaa" newspaper website, last night.

According to the newspaper, the security services were able to uncover the circumstances of the circulation of a video clip on the social networking site “Facebook”, including an attempt by a person to kill his wife in Damietta Governorate.

Through investigations, it was found that the incident dates back to June 30, when a worker in Damietta governorate assaulted and injured his wife while they were in Ras El Bar.

Investigations indicated that this man had tried to kill his wife due to differences between them and her request to separate from him.

However, the wife was able to call for an ambulance, which took her to a hospital, and upon interrogation, she accused her husband of trespassing on her and injuring her with several wounds using a knife.

After codifying the procedures, the accused and the weapon used were seized, and by confronting him, he confessed to committing the incident, and the necessary legal measures were taken.
