At 10:38 on July 7th, Beijing time will usher in the small summer solar term.

The small summer season begins and gradually reaches the hottest period of the year.

There is a folk saying that "the big heat and the small heat are steamed on the top and boiled on the bottom".

After the small summer heat, southern China entered the rainy season. Affected by the hot and humid weather, clothes, books, and wooden furniture all became moldy.

Therefore, since the Tang Dynasty, the folks have the custom of "sunning red and green on June 6th". When the weather is sunny, the clothes are taken out to dry, and the windows are opened to ventilate, commonly known as "drying dragon scales".

In order to promote the culture of Chinese medicine health preservation and disease prevention, and let the public understand and master the knowledge of solar terms and health preservation, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine invited Chen Keji, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, master of Chinese medicine, honorary chief and lifelong researcher of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, to talk about "solar terms and health preservation in small summer".

  Be careful, take precautions

During the small summer season, the weather is hot. Academician Chen Keji introduced that traditional Chinese medicine believes that this is the time when the evil heat is most likely to damage the human body.

People are often upset and short-tempered during the heat, which can easily induce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Therefore, Academician Chen Keji reminded everyone that in the hot summer, it is necessary to take care of the mind and keep the emotions calm and stable.

Move less and more still, move without labor

Academician Chen Keji believes that the body's yang qi is strong during the small summer season, and yang qi has the function of resisting the invasion of external evils, so the principle of "less movement and more quietness" should be followed at this time to avoid the leakage of yang qi.

Make sure to have a regular work and rest every day, enough sleep and proper exercise.

But the exercise intensity should not be too large, pay attention to the combination of work and rest.

Take a break, take a nap in the afternoon

In the small summer season, the daytime is relatively long, and the weather is hot, which affects people's sleep quality to a certain extent.

As a result, there will be problems such as lack of energy and dizziness.

Academician Chen Keji suggested that if conditions permit, taking a proper nap can not only help people replenish physical strength and reduce fatigue, but also help people effectively prevent coronary heart disease and other heart diseases.

  Balanced meals, preferably light

The Xiaoshu season is a season of high incidence of digestive system diseases.

Because of the heavy dampness during this period, the pathogen of summer dampness is most likely to trap the spleen and affect the transportation and transformation of the spleen and stomach.

Academician Chen Keji emphasized that during this period of time, the diet should be matched with meat and vegetables, and light is appropriate.

You can use lotus leaf, tuckahoe, lentils, barley, tuckahoe and other ingredients to make summer soup or porridge.

In addition, you can also drink some green tea, oolong tea or Pu'er tea every day, they have the effect of refreshing and clearing the intestines.

Treat winter diseases in summer, prevent diseases before they occur

Academician Chen Keji also pointed out that "treatment of winter diseases in summer" is a common health care method during the small summer season.

For chronic bronchitis, rheumatism, asthma, deficiency-cold diarrhea and other diseases, the summer treatment for winter diseases has the effect of "settling scabies, restoring yang qi, and dredging collaterals".

In summer, if you have loose skin, you can choose traditional Chinese medicine therapy such as acupoint application, moxibustion and acupuncture to enhance the body's resistance and prevent chronic diseases in winter.
