It became known about the new film projects that the authors of the series "Very strange things", the brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, are working on.

All ideas will be implemented in cooperation with the Netflix video service.

Among them is a play set in the universe of the original series, according to Variety.

The project will be directed by three-time Oscar nominee Stephen Daldry, who directed The Reader, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Billy Elliot.

The universe of "Stranger Things" will also expand the previously announced spin-off of the series.

According to the filmmakers, the plot of the tape will not be based on such key characters from the original as Eleven and Steve Harrington.

“I read about a possible spin-off about Eleven, or about Steve and Dustin, or about one of the other numbered (experimental. -

).

I'm not interested, because we've already done all this.

I don't even know how many hours we spent developing all these lines.

So there will be something fundamentally different, ”one of the Duffer brothers told the Happy Sad Confused podcast the other day.

Filmmakers noted that the spin-off will be "1000% different" from Stranger Things, but a common detail can be traced between the two projects.

“The most important connective tissue is the emotional component of storytelling.

There is a story connected to the world of Stranger Things, but the point is rather how we tell this story, ”say the Duffer brothers.

They promise that the new project will greatly surprise the audience.

Even Netflix does not know what the series will be about yet - according to the authors of the tape, they did not disclose the details of their idea to anyone.

However, the actor Finn Wolfhard, who played Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, managed to unravel the mystery.

"But apart from Finn, no one else knows!"

Duffers emphasize.

Despite the fact that they will become the authors of the idea of a new project, someone else can take up shooting it - the brothers are looking for a person to whom they can pass the baton.

They themselves plan to focus on new ideas.

However, Netflix is intrigued by the prospect of further collaborations with the Duffers.

“Matt and Ross have a unique talent and a very clear vision,” said Ted Sarandos, Co-CEO and Chief Content Officer of Netflix.

“Stranger Things didn’t accidentally fall into the zeitgeist and become the incredible pop culture phenomenon it is today.

We are excited to continue telling new stories with them."

Among the Duffer Brothers' new projects not related to Stranger Things is a television adaptation of the Japanese anime Death Note, first filmed in the 2000s.

Then the series was popular in a number of countries.

The original source tells about the Japanese schoolboy Yagami, who once took possession of a magical artifact in the form of a notebook.

With its help, you can kill people - for this, just enter the name of the victim.

The hero decides to save the world from evil and cruelty and becomes the culprit of a series of murders.

Incidents attract the attention of law enforcement, and an experienced detective is sent in search of Yagami.

The filmmakers are also working on a multi-episode adaptation of the novel The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub about a boy who finds himself in another reality and tries to save his mother from death, and are producing the original series from the creators of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

The plot of this project is still kept secret.

In June, the Duffer Brothers surprised Stranger Things fans with the announcement that they had repeatedly made adjustments to already-released episodes of the show.

The changes also affected the visual effects in the fourth season.

In addition, the directors promised to change Will's date of birth from March 22 to May 22 so that there would not be a strong discrepancy between the picture and the voice acting.

Previously, filmmakers generally forgot about his birthday - in the series, the hero's friends also did not remember the holiday and treated Will with disdain on that day.

The fourth and penultimate season of Stranger Things ended on July 1.

The show became the second Netflix series to ever cross the one billion hour watch mark.

All episodes of the series are available on the Russian platforms "Zetflix" and stranger-things.ru.

Also, the tape can be downloaded on Rutracker and other similar resources.
