Captured by a webcam, they show the brutal fall of a helicopter which intervened on the Vieille lighthouse, located off the very famous Pointe du Raz, in Finistère.
The incident took place on Wednesday July 6 shortly before 2:30 p.m. but ended well.
In a very complicated maneuver, the pilot managed to straighten the aircraft, which was able to stabilize and continue its flight, not without a big fright.

According to our information, the helicopter was carrying out a mission to drop off and deliver crates of equipment to the Vieille lighthouse, located less than two kilometers from the coast and whose summit culminates at about 30 meters above the level of the sea. For some as yet unexplained reason, the helicopter suddenly spun, diving dangerously towards the rocks.
Several Lighthouse and Beacon officers were present at the lighthouse.
One of them was also injured and had to be evacuated by the Civil Security Dragon 29 helicopter.
A significant release of smoke
Owned by the company Mont Blanc Hélicoptères Bretagne, based in Vannes (Morbihan), the aircraft was guided by an experienced pilot, who knew how to avoid the drama.
On the images, we see a significant release of smoke then the triggering of the emergency flotation system.
An internal investigation has been opened by the Interregional Directorate of the North Atlantic Channel West (DIRM NAMO) to determine the reasons for this incident.
