At an elementary school in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, all the school children made a long, long "ring decoration" of 240 meters with origami paper to coincide with Tanabata.

The making of the ring decoration for Tanabata was centered around the children's association of Takuma Elementary School in Mitoyo City, with the title "Let's do the best Tanabata in Japan", and about 450 children from all schools participated.

The children were divided into floors from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor of the school building and lined up in the corridor, and the colorful strips of paper made by cutting origami were connected like chains in a ring.

Sixth graders helped the first graders work, and everyone worked together to make ring decorations.

Then, on the ground, I made one ring decoration and connected it to a bamboo strip with a wish written on it.

The ring decoration, which stretches for about 240 meters, was placed around the ground and was lifted by children to take a commemorative photo.

Mone Yoneda, the chairman of the children's association and a sixth grader, said, "I was worried at first, but I was very happy because everyone was having fun and we were able to cooperate."
