  Changsha has a long history and rich cultural relics.

In order to strengthen the protection of underground cultural relics in Changsha, from 1951 to 1952, the former Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences formed the "Changsha Archaeological Team of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences" headed by Xia Nai, and stationed in Changsha to carry out archaeological work, opening up Changsha and even southern China. Prelude to scientific archaeological work.

Over the past 70 years, archaeologists in Changsha have been passed down from generation to generation, excavated and protected a large number of historical relics and precious cultural relics, and through in-depth research, gradually revealed the development context of ancient civilization in Changsha, which effectively reflects the development direction of the Chinese nation and the diversity of the Chinese nation. A unified evolution pattern.

  The exhibition is divided into three units: "Chu and Han hooks sinking into the famous city", "retrospecting and seeking civilization reappearance", and "ancient county looking back at the star city and shining color", bringing together the National Museum of China, the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Hunan Museum, and the cultural relics of Hunan Province. There are nearly 400 pieces (sets) of cultural relics and various archaeological materials in the collections of the Institute of Archaeology and several cultural and museum units in Changsha.

A series of important Chu tombs, as well as the excavation process and important achievements of Han tombs represented by Mawangdui Han Tombs and Han Dynasty Mausoleums, reproduce the highly splendid local civilization of Changsha during the Chu and Han periods.

  In addition, the atrium of Changsha Museum is supplemented by the restoration of the Han Dynasty pottery well circle, the Song Dynasty wooden well circle and the wooden culvert and other relics.

  This exhibition is the first special exhibition of Changsha Memory series launched by Changsha Museum, and it will be open until October 8th free of charge.
