The 19-year-old artist Adaam would have participated in Red Bull's gig with young shooting stars from Scandinavia, such as VC Barre and Danish Fouli and JAE.

Adaam was nominated for a Grammy in 2022 in the category song of the year for "TOP" together with VC Barre.

He released his first song "Trap $ tar" in 2018 - already at the age of 16.

Shortly afterwards came the hit song "Wave" which put his name on the Swedish hip hop map.

He has also visited Einár with the song "Dansa" from 2021 which has close to three million views on Youtube.

“Lollapalooza is a dream for many artists”

According to Adaam himself, the police intervention at Lollapalooza was unprovoked.

He tells Kulturnyheterna that he was backstage ten minutes before the concert, when he felt that it smelled like cannabis.

- It was not just us there, there were at least 40 people from different teams.

Of all those who were there, the police pointed to us, says Adaam.

- I said I would perform in ten minutes.

This is a dream for many artists.

It's not like we're there joking.

We would not waste that chance by doing something stupid.

According to Adaam, he is then abducted by the police, and is critical of the action:

- I did not resist, and always thought that they would let me perform.

I was not under the influence of alcohol, not drunk.

They had no right to do so, says Adaam.

The police do not want to comment

Adaam himself says that he was released without suspicion of crime.

The police, for their part, do not want to comment on the incident.

- We can not comment on information against individuals, it would be grossly violating privacy, says police spokeswoman Carina Skagerström.

The artist himself claims that he is not suspected of crime?

- I do not intend to discuss with an artist via the media, if he is dissatisfied with the work of the police, he should report it, says Carina Skagerström.

Adaam himself has drawn attention to the incident on social media, and says that he is not looking for any sanctions for the police who arrested him.

However, he wants to show that he has not done anything wrong.

- This happens often, and our word is nothing against the police word.

My goal is for people to see that this was not our fault, says Adaam.

The Lollapalooza festival has declined to comment on the incident.
