An initiative to collect waste plastic materials from local residents and recycle them to make products that can be used in public places has begun in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

This is a collaboration between Kamakura City, Keio University, and a private company, and collects and recycles refill pouches such as detergents and shampoos.

On the 4th, "Shigen Posts" for collection were set up in three places in the city, including the lobby of the city hall.

After being processed, the collected pouches will be reborn as new products with a large 3D printer at a research base in the city.

With 3D printers, we have prototyped benches and planters so far, so we are soliciting ideas for products that can be used in public places from citizens in the future.

Professor Hiroya Tanaka of Keio University, the leader of this project, said, "I would like to pursue the possibility of citizen-participatory resource recycling. I would like all citizens to enjoy participating in this project to reduce waste and generate resources. I was talking.
